Here’s another idea for the "do something every day" file. Yesterday was my daughters Teachers birthday. Now not only did she deserve something special for all the work she has done with my little Drama Queen this year but teachers are very social people!
D.Q picked out the colours & I made up some earrings and a matching ring. These were popped into a little bag with my tag attached and presented to her on the morning of her birthday. When I arrived at school to pick up the darlings!! there was said teacher with lots of mums admiring the goods. Now this may all sound a little calculated BUT If you were going to buy her something anyway why not? Everyone is happy and the leads could be many! Lets hear some more ideas.

Julie you are VERY smart with your marketing - I think it is the way that you are so personal with your marketing that makes it really smart. Anyone can go to a mall to buy something, but your word of mouth tactics are something that every mum in business should take note of!

Now back to that idea of personal marketing. On Saturday at basketball one of the mums stopped me and asked if she could get something for her sister-in-law’s birthday that was that night. How did she find me, she was one of those mums with the teacher last week. How much did that marketing idea cost….nothing,but I got a $50.00 sale.

I have been giving my subscriptions to www.postedbypixies.com as gifts to my daughters friends as birthday presents. It costs me postage and a little of my time but I hope to get renewals and the word of mouth should be good…

Jules, I do this kind of marketing for my business as well. When my kids are invited to a birthday party I make a great gift pack for the appropriate age (as we cater for newborns to the older boys and girls) as a gift. The kids love it and so do the mothers leading to sales for me. Great marketing!!! Word of mouth is the best.

Hey Chriss, how do I get you invited to my kids parties! They would love your things. My 11 yr son especially. We spent 15mins this morning getting his hair “just so” it did look very cool and I am pleased he is taking an interest.
Well done on using your own product for presents. It took me a while to be confident enough. I always thought some would think I was being cheap. Now I know they love it

Send me an invitation and I will be there!!! Jules your products don’t look cheap to me. And after all it’s the thought that counts. Your son would absolutely LOVE our body spray/deodorant for boys, perfect for his age, no aluminium and non-aerosol. And we have the matching cologne as well. I just love the smell when my boys put these on. After all they have to learn personal hygiene from young and that is what PETIT is all about, teaching these kids to look after themselves.
Hey Chriss, I am going to get my boy some of your goodies for xmas for sure. Don’t let me forget. I didn’t really mean I thought my products looked cheap but that handing them out for presents felt like I was being cheap! Now I just think it is smart (and convienient) I will be ordering soon.
